Reasons as to why America is overpopulated

Mexico has the highest population of illegal immigrants who have crossed the border for a better life. To fully understand the reasonings of the drastic migrations from Mexico to America would be to examine the hardships of such a place. One of the reasons for this was the Mexican peso crisis of 1994. It was caused by the decrease in value of the peso by Ernesto Zedilla and the result was tremendous amount of layoffs and suicides. It was a 30 to 40% weakening of the peso compared to the dollar. Bill Clinton helped to fix the problem by the $50 billion loan. But the major immigrant migration to America is a recent event; with 800,000 in 1970 and eight million in 2000. Many critics believe that many illegal immigrants stay in the states because of the more intense border security and to prevent the need for a recrossing. The Mexican government is truly in favor of the immigration because the money being sent home is the nation's third largest income coming in.

The jump from 800,000 to 8 million is a large jump in such a short amount of time. I am not really suprised by this but I am shocked to hear about the value of the peso dropping 40 percent. The information presented is clear and but I think you should explain about the the recrossing of the borders and why they would want to do that if they had many hardships there.

I think this information is very useful and it helps people to see the real reason why there are so many immigrants. The information was straight up to the point and easy to understand.

I firmly believe that this reason for immigration is greatly overlooked. Many people complain about immigration but rarely look at the history that promotes it. I commend you for bringing this information to light and informing your peers that the U.S. standard of living is not the only driving force of immigration.

I am glad that you brought this aspect of immigration into your blog. Although many Americans are frustrated and angry with the many illegal immigrants, most do not understand their numerous reasons for coming to the States. I am not supporting the fact that many mexicans are here illegally, I just think it is good for us to see what they have been through. We should try to put ourselves in their shoes and imagine what we would do in a similar situation.

This comments are very helpful because they are reflections of how I feel now on he subject. If more Americans knew what was happening in Mexico then maybe their feelings wouldn't be so unsympathetic towards them. To answer the question about recrossing over, I read on one site that they do this to dodge taxes or to get family but there might be other reasons also.
